The first of the flutes available is the Chinese entry-level by Prelude brand. In an effort to compete in the inexpensive end of the flute market, all of the major flute makers are beginning to produce what are best decribed as trial instruments. These instruments are designed with concerned parents in mind. If the student or parent is unsure whether the potential or interest is long-term, these instruments are reasonably priced with the advice that if the interest is long-term, the instrument should be upgraded after a year of study. This flute has a "split E" mechanism. The cost of this package includes a case and a gig bag.

The next flute that we carry is made by Jupiter. This flute that comes from Taiwan, is an excellent budget instrument that is well suited for students who are just beginning. The model that we carry is the Artist 511 model. This instrument has a solid silver lip-plate riser. As a result, the flute has the advantage of some precious metal components without the the weight disadvantage. We also carry the flute complete with curved headjoint for the younger beginners. This instrument works out at €695 complete with case and cleaning rod.

The next flute that we carry, is the very popular, Buffet 6000 series flute. This European-made instrument is available in many different versions. It is available in open or closed hole, with or without an offset G or split E mechanism. This instrument comes complete with Jakob Winter case that has a patented anti-accidental opening device fitted.

YFL-221 €720

The Yamaha entry-level is a firm favourite with teachers. It is an extremely reliable instrument that has stood the test of time to remain one of the most popular flutes at all levels. The YFL211 is the entry-level instrument from Yamaha. It comes in a hard case and and leatherette gigbag.

230E €699

The next Instrument is another armstrong. The 230 series flute is a higher quality version of the 200 series instrument and comes with the same 5 year plating warranty, bonus care pack and of course the gig bag. This flute is available in both inline, open hole and closed hole, offset G and both are available with or without the split E mechanism.

Quantz PF 665E €1,295

The next instrument is made by the highly respected Pearl. The Pearl company have developed a reputation as one of the most innovative flute manufacturers in the world. Combining new construction ideas, such as a one-piece core bar with a precious metal solid silver headjoint, this company produces this excellent instrument. The 665E has split E mechanism, solid silver head joint and is available in either closed or open hole. The Qunatz series also has a unique wall that gives it a beautiful tone particularly in the lower register. Comes complete with a case, cleaning rod, polishing gauze and cloth, and hand book.

The next set of instruments are the Yamaha 300 series of flutes. They are the beginning of the precious metal head range from Yamaha. They are available closed-hole, offset G (YFL-311) alternatively, open hole, offset G(YFL361).

The top of the range from Armstrong costs €1,780. The Armstrong 80 flute comes with a 24K Gold lip plate with the option of getting the lip plate engraved. It has a thinwall sterling silver head, body and footjoint with the option of open-hole, closed hole, split E or non-split E. It also comes with a fleece lined gig bag and cleaning rod.
